Welcome to Kimball Creek Studio

Caring for your custom wood Kimball Creek Studio product

Thank you for purchasing a Kimbal Creek Studio, LLC custom wood cutting board. It has been made with care and love by me in Snoqualmie, Washington. If you have never had owned an engrain cutting board there are a few things you need to know.

First please NEVER:·
Wash in a dishwasher·
Leave in a full sink, or sitting in water·
Use a metal scrub pad (like an S.O.S. pad)·
Let dry out·
Place hot pots, pans or bakeware on your cutting board·
Throw your cutting board like a frisbee

Second, take care in washing your cutting board:·
Rinse or wipe off with water·
Use mild soap if you desire·
Use a sponge or wash cloth only

Third, long term care for your board:
Your board has been finished with mineral oil, and mineral oil/wax mix. The finish prevents water, stains, sent/smells from penetrating the wood and sticking around. This is not a forever finish and needs to be maintained. You will need to care for you cutting board if:·
Water no longer beads up on the surface·
It starts to look dry·
If you notice anything that looks like a crack
Probably every 2 months regardless of experiencing the above

I recommend using one of two products to treat your board, KIMBALL CREEK STUDIO BOARD BALM or a mineral oil/wax like Howard’s Butcher Block Conditioner (can be found at Lowes, Home Depot and Amazon) Clean your board thoroughly, let it dry and apply your choice per the instructions.
